July 3: Ephesians 4-6 & Psalm 63

Today we finished Ephesians, and something really struck me about how Paul ends his letter. He's writing from prison and asks his friends to "pray for me also that I may be given the right words when I begin to speak, that I may confidently make known the mystery of the gospel."

Think about that for a second. This is Paul - incredible spiritual leader, powerful preacher, guy who planted churches all over the known world.

And he's asking for prayer. He's asking for boldness to keep speaking what God gives him to say.

I think sometimes we put spiritual leaders on pedestals and assume they never struggle or need help. But Paul shows us that no matter how close we grow to Christ, we still need His strength. We still need each other's prayers.

As I mentioned in the episode, asking for prayer isn't a sign of weakness - it's actually a sign of strength. It takes courage to be vulnerable and ask for help.

So here's my challenge: Is there something you need prayer for right now? Reach out to someone this week and ask, "Would you pray for me?" You might be surprised how much it helps both of you.
