June 28: Leviticus 28 & Psalm 59

In today's episode, I talked about how God is basically setting the stage in Leviticus 26 for what's going to happen throughout the rest of the Old Testament. He's laying out the deal: follow me and I'll bless you, turn away and there will be consequences. And then we're going to watch this cycle play out over and over - the Israelites following God, then drifting away, then crying out to Him, then promising to do better... and then drifting away again.

And honestly? I used to judge them for it. Like, how could they mess up so badly when they had everything they needed in God?

But then I realized I do the exact same thing.

I'll have these amazing moments where I feel so close to God - I'm praying, reading my Bible, everything feels right. And then life happens. Work gets crazy, or I get caught up in some drama, or I just get busy... and before I know it, I haven't talked to God in days.

Sound familiar?

The good news is God doesn't give up on us when we drift. He's always ready to welcome us back. The question is: what's one small step you can take today to get a little closer to Him?

Maybe it's just saying "hey God, I'm here" while you're drinking your coffee. Maybe it's listening to worship music on your drive. Maybe it's texting a friend to pray for you.

Whatever it is, He'll meet you right where you are.
