It’s not an April Fool’s Day joke, today we see everything change for Joseph!
But it takes a lot longer than Joseph probably thought it would…13 years of nothing seeming to change (sometimes going from bad to worse).
What I find amazing about these chapters is Joseph’s response to everything. And how people interact with him…they can clearly see there is something different about Joseph.
When Joseph is asked to interpret dreams, he gives all the credit to God.
Pharoah realizes that Joseph has wisdom and walks closely with God. I love his statement when putting Joseph in charge:
“Can we find a man like Joseph, one in whom the Spirit of God is present?”
And then we see how Joseph treats his brothers after testing them.
There is no bitterness, anger, or trying to get revenge. Instead, he recognizes God’s plan to save his family by sending him to Egypt ahead of them.
Wow! What faith in trust Joseph developed during his many years of waiting.
Joseph’s story and faith is always both encouraging and challenging.
